Shoutcast Explorer

If you want to listen to an online radio station, you have to look for a playlist file on the station's web site. In certain cases, it may take some time to find the file, due to an overloaded home page, but you can use Shoutcast Explorer to find radio stations by genre and download their playlists immediately. The application allows you to browse through countless radio stations and it will not present any kind of difficulties, even for novice users.

Shoutcast Explorer is free and open source. Its setup file is less than one MB and it takes only a few moments to install the application's components. It works on Windows and Linux and it has a negligible impact on a computer's performance.

The software's user interface presents a long list of shoutcast radio stations and you can make it longer if you want to. You can set Shoutcast Explorer to display up to 500 radio stations on the same window. Furthermore, the radio stations are categorized by numerous genres, which can be selected in a drop menu, in the upper right corner of the window.

The stations are listed along with their currently playing songs, bitrates, IDs, types and their listeners count. These details can be updated at any time, by clicking a Refresh button. Besides music genres, you will find other categories as well. News, community or collage stations are just a few examples. If you double click a listed radio station, the application will download its playlist and it will launch it with your default radio station.
